One of the mind-bending exercises law school demands is to believe in the "fertile octogenarian" and the "unborn widow". The "fertile octogenarian" rule is that, for purposes of determining if a conveyance of a future interest does not violate the Rule against Perpetuities, anyone can give birth to a child, no matter how old or what gender they are.
Seems insane, no?
Not so fast. Seems that we may be approaching that possibility with 70 year old women giving birth.
